Former Fire Chief Bobby Vasseur passed away last week, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication and bravery.
Vasseur was born Feb. 18, 1964, in Rayne, but made Jennings his home when he committed to public safety through the Jennings Fire Department. He started as a volunteer firefighter in 1981 and served in that capacity until becoming a career firefighter in 1984.
