Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF) is encouraging residents to take steps to protect migrating birds as peak spring bird migration season begins along the Gulf Coast.
Media Coordinator Maggie Robert said LWF reports show bird populations continue to decline and are urging residents and businesses statewide to take part in an initiative called Lights Out Louisiana to help protect migratory birds.
