WELSH - The Welsh Greyhounds will try to break out of a two-game losing streak Friday night when they host class 4-A LaGrange in a non-district clash from Greyhound Stadium. After dropping a last minute decision to Kinder to start the season, the Greyhounds ripped off three wins in a row over Vinton, Pickering and Hamilton Christian. Then came consecutive losses to the Westlake Rams and the Notre Dame Pioneers that has left the Hounds with a 3-3 overall worksheet for the year.
(AP) — With one Small kick and a rather sizable upset, Texas A&M caused quite a shakeup in the Southeastern Conference Western Division.
LAFAYETTE (AP) — Levi Lewis threw for one touchdown and ran for another, Chris Smith added two rushing scores and Louisiana-Lafayette eased by Appalachian State 41-13 on Tuesday night.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — No one can truly predict what will happen when No. 20 Florida and LSU play Saturday. Anything is possible, everything is on the table and nothing is out of reach.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Everybody expected a playoff series for the ages between the century-old rival Dodgers and Giants, and now they’ve got it.
WELSH – After going through a pair of growing years in 2019 and 2020 that saw the Welsh Greyhounds win a total of three football games, senior running back Cohen Fontenot is having a year that has already spurned the Hounds to that same total. Welsh has started the season an impressive 3-3, and Fontenot has put his name up there with some of the best backs in the state of Louisiana. Through six games, Fontenot comes in as the state’s No. 10 rusher in all classifications with 956 yards on 131 carries and 13 TD’s. Despite the huge numbers, Fontenot tends to give the credit in other places for helping him out to a great start.
