ELTON — Officials here were presented with a proposition this week to rename a street in honor of a hometown hero.
Mayor Mike Pierrotti and the Elton Town Council received a request from Tom Garbarino to change the name of Colorado Street to Albert “Billy” Sonnier Memorial Drive to pay homage to the Vietnam veteran.
