Jeff Davis Parish voters hit the polls on Saturday to cast their ballots on various items, including five constitutional amendments, senator candidates for the Democratic and Republican parties and two City of Jennings tax renewals. According to the Louisiana Secretary of State, all five CAs failed to pass by a large margin.

The Jennings High School graduating class of 2026 enjoyed a special goodbye during the 124th graduation ceremony Friday night as the group of high-achieving seniors bid a grateful farewell to many years together.
Tigers take the field one last time
LAKE ARTHUR — Lake Arthur High School held its annual commencement exercises at Jack Doland Memorial Stadium Friday night and sent 50 Tigers into the next chapter of their lives. The event started with an introduction of graduates by Senior Sponsor Ashley Lutyhe.
Summer feeding program returns
Jeff Davis Parish School Board Child Nutrition Department is currently taking registrations for its annual Summer Feeding Program. The program is open to parish children from birth to 18 years old and provides free meal kits weekly.
Community reunion scheduled for Saturday
The Jennings Downhome Reunion is sweeping into town this weekend as residents come together to celebrate over a decade of fellowship, family, food and fun. The two-day event will kick off Friday, May 22, from 5-8 p.m. at Marcus Cain Park, located at 510 Peters St. in Jennings, with a meet and greet. There will be free food and drinks, along with music and games.
JPD investigates vehicle burglaries
Local law enforcement is putting residents on high alert as several thefts involving items from cars have been reported in the City of Jennings. The Jennings Police Department is currently investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries which recently occurred throughout the city.
Submissions wanted for art installation
A new resident-formed group is seeking submissions for a fresh partnership to promote culture and community right here in Jeff Davis Parish.
Canceled Louisiana House races set for Nov. 3 primary ballot
(The Center Square) — Louisiana Secretary of State Nancy Landry is reminding voters that races and propositions scheduled for Saturday will proceed as planned, except for U.S. House races, which have been canceled and moved to the fall election cycle.
Concert series ends
Turn It Up Tuesday ended this week with a bang. Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns closed out the free concert series to a packed Founder’s Park in downtown Jennings. In the fall, a new lineup will be presented for another chance to turn up.
