Kratzer swears in for seventh term
Jeff Davis Parish Tax Assessor Donald Kratzer (from right) swears in for his seventh term serving the parish. Also shown is his six-year-old grandson Benjamin and wife Paulette. Kratzer, who began his career with the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, was first elected as the tax assessor in 2001. Unlike in previous years, Kratzer held his swearing-in ceremony with only a few family members present at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home so his mother could attend. The tax assessor said he has enjoyed serving Jeff Davis Parish alongside his wonderful office staff and looks forward to continuing for another four years.
Blood drive to help young accident victim set
HATHAWAY — Friends of a Hathaway High School student who was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in December have found a way to help the young man.
