Kratzer, who began his career with the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, was first elected as the tax assessor in 2001. Unlike in previous years, Kratzer held his swearing-in ceremony with only a few family members present at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home so his mother could attend. The tax assessor said he has enjoyed serving Jeff Davis Parish alongside his wonderful office staff and looks forward to continuing for another four years.
