It was incorrectly stated in the Wednesday, April 15 edition of Jennings Daily News the aldermen and mayor of the Town of Lake Arthur received a pay raise. However, the group only introduced the ordinance for the boost in pay. The item will be voted on in the May meeting of the board.

(The Center Square) — In a setback for supporters of tort reform, a Louisiana bill that would have limited general or noneconomic damages in civil court verdicts to $500,000 went down to defeat in the House Civil Law and Procedure Committee.
