The pros and cons of term limits

On March 21, 1947, the U.S. Congress passed the 22nd Amendment, which limited presidents to two terms in office.

Term limits date all the way back to the American Revolution in our country, even democracies in antiquity such as Greece and Rome. It is said that the council of 500 in ancient Athens rotated its entire membership annually, as did the ephorate in ancient Sparta.
