Dear Editor, On Nov. 15, 2025, the citizens of Jeff Davis Parish will be asked to vote to rededicate some of the half-cent consolidated jail sales tax, originally passed in 2014 and last renewed in 2024, to fund maintaining the newly constructed $2.1 million, 4,374 square foot animal shelter near the JDP Regional Consolidated Jail Facility on U.S. 90.
