Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. with life celebration starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026 in Union Baptist Church in Jennings. Burial will be in Mermentau Cemetery under the direction of Mortuary Center of Southwest Louisiana.
Cynthia Ann McZeal was born on Nov. 1, 1946, in Mermentau to the proud parents, Edgar and Clara McZeal. On Sunday, Oct. 13, 2026, she was called home to the Lord and entered into eternal rest. Cynthia shared a beautiful love story with her husband, Clayton McZeal. Nearly 59 years ago, it was love at first sight and they never looked back. Together, their devotion built a life of legacy that would last for generations.
Cynthia was a woman of strength, undeniable beauty and a personality larger than life. She was a one of a kind woman and lived her life unapologetically. She was a true diva in every sense of the word, from sewing her own clothing to ensuring her hair and nails were always done, she carried herself with confidence and sass.
She had a special way of making people feel at home, unless, of course, you were rooting against her beloved New Orleans Saints!
She is preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Clara Murray and her husband Clayton McZeal. Left to cherish her legacy are her two children David Clayton McZeal and Timothy “Tim” Wayne McZeal; grandchildren Donte Quamaine McZeal, Raven (Dwight) McZeal-Barker, Tinasia “Tootie” McZeal, Tamia “Meme” McZeal; great-grandchildren Dwight “Tre” Barker III, Dru Eli Barker, Daison Emir Barker; one great-granddaughter on the way (expected December 2026); as well as a host of loving and supportive nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
