Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnye Rae Fontenot, 87, of Jennings will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Todd Schumacher officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Fontenot will begin Friday, March 16, at 4 p.m. and will continue until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday morning at 8 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Fontenot was born in Jennings to Carmen and Myrtle Fern Hart. She remained a resident of Jennings all her life. She passed away March 15, 2018, in Jennings American Hospital.

She was known to most as Memaw, a title she cherished. She enjoyed baking for her family and watching the HSN and QVC shopping networks. She also loved garage sales.

Mrs. Fontenot leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Karen (Mike) Worthington of Ville Platte and Mindy (Glen) Hetzel of Hathaway; a son, Kevin (Angie) Fontenot of Jennings; two sisters, Lorraine (Roland) McCown of Welsh and Pat Granger of Jennings; 11 grandchildren, Lake Martin, Matt Martin, Misti Klay, Ashli Wilkinson, Benjamin Hetzel, Lacey Hetzel Austin, Will Hetzel, Heidi Fontenot Duplantis, Clay Fontenot, Conner Fontenot and Kane Fontenot; and 13 greatgrandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Elmer James Fontenot; her parents, Carmen and Myrtle Fern Hart; her daughter, Sharon Faye Martin; and her brother, Jimmy Hart.
