Celebration of Life services will be held for Mrs. Amelia Simon-Brown, 88, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018, in Union Baptist Church, 1014 S. Main Street, Jennings, with Reverend Gerald W. Perkins, Sr. officiating.

Visitation will be held in the church from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Burial will be in Benevolent Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.

Mrs. Brown entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 14, 2018, in Jeff Davis Living Center. She was a native of Lacassine and lived in Jennings most of her life. She was formerly employed by the Fred and Ruth B. Zigler Foundation and the City of Jennings. Amelia accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church where she served on the Usher’s Ministry and the Mission Department.

Mrs. Brown leaves to cherish her memories one son, Raymond Brown, Jr. of Jennings; two daughters, Louwanda (Kirk) Simon of Jennings and Veronica Brown of Beaumont, Texas; two grandchildren, Velvet Terry and Denzel Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Patriana Sinegal and Nyla Terry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brown, Sr; a daughter, Patricia Brown; her parents, Lilly and Eddy Simon; three brothers, Bennett Simon, Aaron Simon and Ollie Simon; and three sisters, Emily Brown, Martha Narcisse and Lovenia West.
