Merlin Lee Green

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings for Merlin Lee Green, 83, who died Saturday, July 21, 2018.

Mr. Green was a graduate of Crowley High School and a graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL), where he obtained a degree in engineering. He worked for Chance Vought Aerospace in Denton, Texas, before returning to Louisiana to work for the family business at Green’s Hardware in Crowley. Mr. Green was retired and resided in Lake Arthur.

Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Robert (Patsy Ruth) Johnson of Alexandria, Vir.; his sister-in-law, Phyllis (Lapleau) Green; nephews Philip Lee Green, Larre Paul Green and nieces Sara (Green) Mele, Cindy (Johnson) McDonald, Cheryl (Johnson) Todd and Christy Johnson; and many great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy Joseph (MJ) Green and Verusha (Verl “Conkey” Butler) Green of Crowley; and his brother, Dr. William Paul Green of Arlington, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
