John Breaux, Jr.

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of John Breaux, Jr. announces his passing from this life on July 29, 2018 at the age of 80.

Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 at 1 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of his service at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow in Pine Island Cemetery.

John was born in Crowley to Clemance Clement on Aug. 6, 1937. John loved the outdoors, especially if he was hunting, fishing or camping. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. John never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his son, David Breaux of San Antonio, Texas; his two daughters, Sharon Courville of Virginia and Karen Breaux Guidry of Pass Christian, Miss.; his two grandchildren, Jimmy Courville IV and Mackenzie Courville, both of Virginia; his sister, Carrie Gautreaux of Batson, Texas; and his first wife, Ella Breaux of Iota.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Clemance Clement; his second wife, Carrie Kratzer Breaux; his son, Robert Breaux;his three sisters, Loraine Gatte, Annette Miller, Vivian Leckett; and his brother, Willard Breaux, .
