LAKE ARTHUR - Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Hanks, 83, of Lake Arthur was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur, with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.

Visitation for Mrs. Hanks was held Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 from 3-9 p.m. A Cursillo Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Visitation resumed Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Burial followed in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanks was a lifelong resident of the Lake Arthur community. She followed her husband during his military career to many places around the world. After returning home she became active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3244, serving as chairman for the sales of poppies for cancer research. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and great great-grandmother. She enjoyed planting flowers, especially roses.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia (Dudley) LaCoste, Carolyn (Steven) Benoit and Linda (Gregory) Holland, all of Lake Arthur, and Paula (Timothy) LeJeune of Pine Island; sons, Roger (Sheila) Hanks of Welsh and Robert (Mary Menard) Hanks of Lake Arthur; one brother, Eugene Landry of Lake Arthur; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two great greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forrester Hanks; and her parents, Tholen and Edolia Conner Landry.
