LAKE ARTHUR - Funeral services for Jeanette Marie Duhon, 73, of Lake Arthur were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Mitchell Gotte and Rev. Mickey Istre officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home beginning Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, from 3-9 p.m. Visitation resumed Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, from 9 a.m. until the time of her service at 2 p.m.

Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

Jeanette was born in Jennings on April 8, 1946, to Endy Joseph Duhon and Olive Benoit Duhon. She was called to her Heavenly Father on Aug. 30, 2019. Jeanette was a nurse for Dr. Louis Shirley for 46 years. She was a member of the Lake Arthur Coalition Choir and Bible study group. Jeanette loved her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with all of them and doing all she could for them. She was a kind and loving person and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jeanette is survived by her two daughters, Michelle LeMaire (Carl) of Jennings and Wendy Stebbins (Jude) of Welsh; her sister, Jenita Mae Duhon of Lake Arthur; her six grandchildren, Brandi McKay, Meighan LeMaire, Chelcie Bonin, Caden LeMaire, Kaleb Stebbins and Kasey Stebbins; her four great-grandchildren, Emmalyn Bonin, Jade LeMaire, Jaxson LeMaire and Torin McKay; her niece, Shirley Hebert and her son, Devin Gay; and her nephew, Dwayne Hebert and his kids, Endy, Paige and River Hebert.

Jeanette now rests in Heaven with her parents, Endy Joseph and Olive Benoit Duhon.

Carrying Jeanette to her final resting place were Dwayne Hebert, Devin Gay, Kaleb Stebbins, Caden LeMaire, Steven “Chi” Bonin, and Doug McKay. Honorary pallbearer was Kasey Stebbins.
