JENNINGS — Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings for Dorothy “Dot” Hicks, 91, who passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Nancy Katherine Crandall, 86, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, died Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Betty Lucille Aycock Wade, 92, died peacefully at her home in Lake Arthur on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. She was born on Dec. 30, 1932, in Laurel, Miss. to parents William Lee and Daisy Wedgworth Aycock. She graduated from Watkins High School in Laurel, where she met Aubrey Wade. They were married April 2, 1949. They lived several places because of his time in the service and his college football career, settling in Lake Arthur in 1957 as their permanent home.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ricky Lynn Sittig, who left us on March 6, 2025 at the age of 70. Born on Sept. 28, 1954, in Jennings, Ricky lived a life filled with love for his family and countless adventures that brought joy to those around him.

Ricky Jerome Haley, affectionately known as Rick, Hound, Pretty Ricky and Practice, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2025 at the age of 65 with his devoted children by his side. Born on Feb. 14, 1960 in Welsh to the late Annice Elizabeth Haley and Burel Haley Sr., Ricky was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

The family of Mrs. Mary Christine Johnson Blackwell sadly announces her passing on Feb. 28, 2025 at the age of 82.

Dwayne “Chief” Patrick Guidry, born on April 13, 1967 in Jennings, passed away at the age of 57 on Feb. 28, 2025.

Ernest Eugene Fulton, 86, of Crowley passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2025. He lived the phrase, “Work hard. Play hard.” as a Navy veteran and Gulf oil rig electrician. His greatest treasure was his wife of nearly 55 years, Glenda “Pappy” Hebert. They built a life together in Jennings, where they rode life’s highs and lows, raising four strong sons and becoming active grandparents. When the time came to hang up his work boots, he and Glenda knew retirement wasn’t about slowing down — it was about shifting gears. Together they set off on new adventures, moving to Canyon Lake, Texas, then disappearing in their RV for months at a time. They enjoyed two decades of chasing sunsets and making memories that stretched as far as the highways they traveled.
