LAKE ARTHUR — The Lake Arthur Tigers and Notre Dame Pioneers basketball teams opened district 6-2A play in “Nookie” Moore Gym Friday night. The Tigers held a slim 21-19 halftime lead and would outscore the Pioneers 13-3 in the third period.
Notre Dame would rally in the fourth period and trailed 45-41 with a minute left in the game. Lake Arthur would get a pair of free throws and take a 47-41 win.
