MOSS BLUFF — The Jennings Bulldogs capped off their preseason work with a pair of jamboree contests at Sam Houston High School Thursday night. The Dogs dropped a pair of tough decisions to both Iowa and Sam Houston. Jennings fell to Iowa 7-0 and 10-6 to the host Broncos. The format was a 12-minute abbreviated game for both contests. Despite the setbacks, Jennings showed a lot of promise on both sides of the football field.

The Elton Indians got off to a great start Thursday night by toppling the Gueydan Bears by a final of 36-0 in their tune-up
The Cities of Crowley and Jennings will be hosting a two-man scramble golf tournament on Sept. 2-3. The event will take place on two days at two different courses. The courses to be played are Jennings Country Club and Bayou Bend Golf Course of Crowley.
BATON ROUGE — The high school regular season hasn’t even begun however the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) playoff system is already in jeopardy.
As the regular football season comes one step closer, area teams are fine-tuning things before their week one opener with jamboree matchups. Jennings, Lake Arthur and Elton will all play their jamborees tonight, while the Greyhounds from Welsh will play theirs on Friday night.
WELSH — New head coach Ronnie Courville put his troops out for the first time here Friday night against the Oakdale Warriors and he came away satisfied with the effort of his team.
