LACASSINE — The Lacassine High Cardinals (18-9) hosted the Reeves High Raiders (10-12) Friday night in a non-district contest held at John Juneau Gymnasium. The Cardinals dominated the hardwood all night and finished with a 67-27 win over the Raiders. The host team put up seven 3-pointers collectively.
LACASSINE — The Lacassine High Lady Cardinals (17-8) hosted the Reeves High Lady Raiders (18-3) Friday night at John Juneau Gymnasium for a nondistrict competition. The No. 3 ranked Lady Raiders were dealt a big upset as the No. 18 ranked Lady Cardinals, led by Sydnie Cooley with an impressive 33 points, took the 52-47 win in the hard-fought battle. The Lady Cardinals opened the game with a slow start and were down by seven points at halftime. However, it would be a tied game at the end of the third and the Lady Cardinals were unrelenting in the fourth quarter, commanding the court for the win.

The Lady Indians broke a four-game losing streak with a strong first half performance that cinched the 43-21 win over the Lady Demons The Lady Indian offense dominated the hardwood with 18 points in the first quarter of the contest while their defensive attack held the Lady Demons back, allowing them only two points. Jamarsha LaComb led the first quarter charge scoring six points for the Lady Indians. Kayilah Guillory pitched in four points with a pair of baskets. Laylah Fontenot and Brianna Laughlin each chipped in three points while Kharington Thomas added two more.

After a hardfought battle, the Indians came up just three points short as the Green Demons took the 55-52 win. The Indians put up a big fourth quarter effort and came within striking distance however, the clock ran out on them.
