ELTON — The Elton High Invitational kicked off last Wednesday and wrapped up Saturday at Oris Guidry Gymnasium. The championship game came down to a match between the Elton Indians and the Iowa Yellow Jackets. The Jackets would dominate the contest in the second half for the win of 72-50. The Indians drop to 2-5 while the win starts the Jackets’ season off at 3-0.

ELTON — The Elton Indians picked up the win over the Westminster Christian Academy Crusaders Thursday evening in the Elton High School Invitational being held at Oris Guidry Gymnasium with a final score of 56-44. The win moves the Indians up to 2-4 as the season begins. Senior Tre Bellow led the team with a game total of 27 points. Senior Damarcus Jack also hit double digits with his 15-point contribution.
LACASSINE — The Lacassine Lady Cardinals extended their winning streak to eight games Tuesday night at Juneau Gymnasium by pulling away from the Kinder Lady Jackets by a final of 57-48. The win moves the Lady Cards to 9-3 overall on the young season, and they will be back in action this weekend at the Bell City Tournament held at Juneau Gymnasium. Lacasssine rode the huge night of senior Sydnie Cooley, who popped in a whopping 29 points to help her side to the victory.
LACASSSINE – The Lacassine Cardinals raced out to a big lead they would never relinquish in a non-district contest at John Juneau Gymnasium Tuesday night. The Cards blasted the Yellow Jackets by a final of 60-24 to move their overall record to 8-6 after a rigorous early season schedule. The Cards used the hot hand of sophomore Kane Broussard to lead the way, draining six 3-pointers and finishing with a game-high 20 points. Lacassine will be back in action this weekend when they participate in the Bell City Tournament being held at Juneau Gymnasium.
