Lady Hornets wreck Rams, 65-31

LAFAYETTE — The Hathaway Lady Hornets finished up their successful trip to the St. Thomas More Invitational this past week by knocking off their second 5A opponent in the Acadiana Lady Rams by a final of 65-31. The win upped the Lady Hornets’ overall record to 7-3, and closed out the tournament with a 2-1 mark. The only loss for the Lady Hornets came in a 5-point defeat to the Barbe Lady Bucs. Hathaway will be back in action tonight when they welcome in Avoyelles Public Charter to Charles Groth Gymnasium.

Strong second half lead LA over Teurlings, 56-40

MAURICE — The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers picked up a big win over the Teurlings Catholic Lady Rebels Tuesday in the North Vermillion Tournament by a final of 56-40. The Lady Tigers led from start to finish in the contest, and moved their overall record to 2-2 on the young season.

Lady Hornets drain 14 trifectas in big win over Ruston

LAFAYETTE – The Hathaway Lady Hornets opened the prestigious St. Thomas More High School Invitation on Monday and quickly made their presence known. The tournament features some of the best big school girls’ basketball teams in the state, however the Lady Hornets showed they can play with anyone by taking down 5A Ruston High School in their opener by a final of 64-35. The win moved the Lady Hornets out to 7-2 on the young season. Hathaway placed three scorers in double figures in the contest, and also drained 14 3-pointers in the victory.

Iota knocks off Hornets, 63-46

HATHAWAY – The Hathaway Hornets dropped a tough one to the Iota Bulldogs this past weekend at the Hathaway High School Tournament. The Bulldogs were able to break open a close contest at the half, and cruise to a 63-46 win. The Hornets will be back in action on Monday when they travel right down the road to take on parish rival Elton.
