LACASSINE — The No. 2 ranked Lacassine High Cardinals hosted the No. 5 ranked Midland High Rebels Tuesday night at John Juneau Gymnasium in a District 6-B match. Lacassine recognized their Senior players and then celebrated with a win of 69-62 over Midland in a fastpaced contest. The win moves Lacassine to 34-2, 8-1 while Midland drops to 15-13, 3-5.
LAKE ARTHUR — The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers added another district win to their dazzling record here Tuesday night at “Nookie” Moore Gymnasium by pummeling the DeQuincy Lady Tigers by a final of 77-11. Lake Arthur is currently sitting at No. 4 in the state in Division IV with an overall mark of 24-4, 7-0 in district 5-2A play. The Lady Tigers got a huge effort from Vivian Sketoe and Avery Marcantel, who combined to score 48 points and hit 11 3-point buckets in the win. Sketoe pumped in 25 and seven triples, while Marcantel totaled 23 points and four treys. The Lady Tigers jumped out to a commanding 37-2 advantage after the first period with a huge scoring barrage from Sketoe. The senior guard pumped in 19 points in the first on five 3-pointers, while Marcantel had a productive first with her 10 and a trifecta. Mia Klein and Ella Istre both chipped in four in the first for Lake Arthur.

LACASSINE — The Lacassine Cardinals kept their winning ways alive this week by pummeling the Bell City Bruins by a final of 82-40 from John Juneau Gymnasium. The Cards upped their sparkling mark to 32-2 overall, and currently sit at No. 2 in the latest Division V non-select power ratings. Lacassine placed a trio of starters in double figures, including Kane Broussard, Jordan Garcia and Alexx Thomas. The Cards were also able to bury 11 3-pointers in the contest.
