WELSH — The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers stayed unbeaten in district 5-2A play Wednesday night by toppling the Welsh Lady Greyhounds by a final of 70-35 from a frigid Greyhound Gymnasium. The win moved the Lady Tigers out to 19-4 overall, 2-0 in district play. The Lady Hounds dropped to 4-21, 2-1 in league play. Lake Arthur is currently sitting at No. 4 in the latest Division IV non-select power ratings, while the Lady Hounds are at No. 34. After a sluggish start to the contest, the Lady Tigers proceeded to run wild over the Lady Hounds over the next three quarters in securing their big 70-35 win.

DEQUINCY — The Welsh Greyhounds stayed perfect in district play Friday night by thumping the DeQuincy Tigers by a final 73-46 at Greyhound Gymnasium. The Hounds are currently sitting at No. 7 in the latest Division IV non-select power ratings and upped their overall mark to 10-8. Welsh placed five players in double figures Friday night, with La’Troy Pattum and Keithan Achane leading the way with 16 and 15, respectively. The Hounds were scheduled to take on the Lake Arthur Tigers in a battle of undefeated teams in 5-2A play.
MIDLAND — The Hathaway Lady Hornets basketball team traveled to play the Midland Lady Rebels Friday night in a district game. Midland bolted out to a 22-10 led and would lead 33-31 at halftime. Hathaway led 44-40 in the third period, but Midland would make a fourth period comeback to take a 64-63 win.
LAKE ARTHUR — The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers kept their winning ways up on Friday as they belted the Grand Lake Hornets in a district contest by a final of 71-12 at “Nookie” Moore Gymnasium. With the win, Lake Arthur moves to 18-4 overall and is sitting at No.4 in the latest Division IV non-select power ratings. Senior guard Vivian Sketoe led the Lady Tiger charge by popping in a game-high 23 points.
