HATHAWAY - The No. 2-ranked Hathaway Hornets edged the No. 4-ranked Lake Arthur Tigers in a tightly contested game at Charles F. Groth Gymnasium Friday night by a final of 55-51 in a back-and-forth affair.
Lake Arthur roared into the game, swiping the tip. Hornets (19-4) senior Colby Augustine pushed the Hornets to a 3-0 lead at the 6:23 mark, popping a triple. At 5:24, Lake Arthur senior Tristan Doucet flipped a triple, tying the board at 3-3. Hathaway pulled ahead, but at the 1:09 mark, both teams were locked at 13-13. The Tigers shot one last double, bringing the game 15-13.
