The Jennings Bulldogs will finally have a chance to get back on the gridiron tonight as they open the tumultuous 2020 slate by traveling to DeRidder to take on the 4A Dragons. Jennings looked impressive in their first action with Leesville last Friday when the teams met for a controlled scrimmage. The defending Class 3A state runner-up popped the Wampus Cats by a final of 28-13 in the warmup affair, and seemed to be close to mid-season form on both sides of the ball. Running backs Trevor Etienne and Jalen Lewis combined to run the football for 272 yards in the scrimmage, with Etienne rushing for 144 stripes on 11 carries and two TD’s. Lewis toted the rock for 128 stripes on 11 carries as well. Quarterback Bub Willridge completed 5-of- 10 through the air for 79 yards, and also picked up a pair of scores on a oneyard and two-yard scoring plunge. The Dogs rolled up over 350 yards of offense in the scrimmage, while picking up 15 first downs in just 40 plays on that side of the ball.
