The Rotary Club of Welsh recently welcomed Rotary District Gov. Margaretta Mayes to speak with the club. Rotarian and President-Elect Bernadine Daboval received the Paul Harris +3 pin for her contributions to the Rotary Foundation. Assistant Gov. Phyllis Arceneaux honored her with her pin. Rotarians were invited for coffee and desserts with the District Governor, hosted by Daboval.

The Welsh Board of Aldermen and Mayor Karl Arceneaux (left) recently honored Chris LeBouef for his 24 years of service to the town. “We rarely stop to think when we turn on a faucet what it takes to get clean reliable water and the people behind the scenes,” Arceneaux said.

I’m sure professionals who have a name for every personality disorder upon this earth would have a field day with all of mine. Most days, however, I find myself rather normal.

When life gets busy, your home should be a place of reprieve, not extra stress - and that includes your kitchen. For many people, the library is still imagined as a quiet building filled with books. While the shelves remain full of stories waiting to be discovered, the Jeff Davis Parish Library has evolved into something much greater — a place where education, technology, culture and community come together under one roof.

On Saturday, June 27, loved ones gathered to celebrate the 97th birthday of James 'Jimmie' Bryant, who was born on June 29.The day brought laughter, cherished memories and the love of those who have shared his remarkable journey through life.
