The Knights of Columbus Council 2012 recently honored several of its members and their families for their dedication to the organization and the community. KC Grand Knight Tommy Dennis awarded Knight of the Month to Toni Benoit and Daniel Stretcher for June and July. Additionally, Dennis recognized Jimmy and Carolyn Richert as the June Family of the Month and Jeff, Ashley and Lilly LaBouve as the July Family of the Month.

The Jennings Garden Club recently announced the July Garden of the Month recipients. Rev. Ray (left photo, from left) and Mrs. Carolyn Wells were among this month’s recipients of the award. The Wells garden can be found on Magnolia Drive.

Since 1965, Jeff Davis Living Center family has made it their business to care for your loved ones. Knights of Columbus officers for the 2025-26 year were recently installed at St. Lawrence Parish Church by KC District Deputy Daniel Stretcher. The Knights of Columbus fraternal organization was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney under the broad principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. St. Lawrence Parish KC Council was established in May 1959. Council 4787 Officers include (in no particular order) Grand Knight Jesse Thibodeaux; Deputy Grand Knight Keith Cormier; Financial Secretary Russell Touchet; Chancellor David Fontenot; Recorder Tommy Durkes; Treasurer Chris Demary; Advocate Jimmy Babineaux; Outside Guard Melvin LeBlanc; Trustee Tyler Demary; Chaplain Deacon Mike Tramel; Lecturer and Public Relation Sam Doucet and Joe Landry, Knight of the Year. The James O. Hall American Legion Post 19 elected new officers recently, including new Commander Rebecca Doucet. The post welcomed Alternate National Executive Committeeman Byron Comeaux and Department of Louisiana Commander Oliver Moore III, who conducted the installation of Post 19’s new officers.

Jones United Methodist Church in Welsh, in conjunction with its Sunday School department, held its annual Vacation Bible School June 23-25.
