Two local seniors were honored during graduation as the recipients of the Jeff Davis Cattlemen Scholarship. Ellie Leblanc (left photo, from left) of Hathaway and Sidney Theriot (right photo, from right) of Lake Arthur both received a $1,500 scholarship commending their contributions to the cattle industry in the parish.
Campbell LeBlanc, 14, of Welsh, recently went to Louisiana High School Rodeo Association State Finals. LeBlanc sat in eighth place and moved forward into the fourth place spot in just three days. Only the top four get to go to the National Competition.
