The mama dog had birthed a litter of pups beneath my cousin’s house. She and the pups were wild and wanted nothing to do with humans, but my cousin still put out food to make sure they would eat a little something.

I believe that in Southwest Louisiana, when people know there is a need, they do what they can to meet that need. I have seen it time and time again when someone is diagnosed with an illness and needs fundraisers to help offset expenses. I see people pool funds to help pay for funeral expenses for a struggling family. When calls go out for food donations, public pantries fill up.
Before I decided to tackle this topic, I had a moment’s hesitation. Is the fact that Nancy Pelosi decided to get her hair done really an issue of national importance?

In 2018, 722 Louisiana residents died by suicide. That same year, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), over 47,000 Americans died the same way.
This will come as news to most voters, but we’re having a two-stage presidential election this year. The first stage is Tuesday, Nov. 3. The plutocrats at JP Morgan warn Trump’s chances at that stage are improving and consequently advise clients to “position accordingly.”
