As many residents line up for their second round of COVID-19 vaccines, businesses have been given greater capacity limits and bars reopened due to declining case numbers in the parish.

Shameful. Heartbreaking. Sickening.

We’re tired of hearing about Harry and Meghan. I’m tired of hearing about Harry and Meghan. The reaction to one aspect of their revelations in an interview with Oprah Winfrey has bothered me, however, and it’s a subject that I believe should be discussed regularly: mental health.

Among President Biden’s first day xecutive actions is one that promised to tackle climate change, a primary concern of Congress. Included as part of the Biden administration’s climate change objectives are rejoining the Paris Agreement and leading what the administration called a clean energy revolution that will, by 2035, achieve a carbon pollution-free power sector. On Earth Day 2021, Biden will host a Leaders’ Climate Summit where he’ll emphasize his ambitious agenda.

Had I not once spent a semester livling adjacent to the Smith College campus in Massachusetts years ago, I’d probably never have read Michael Powell’s extraordinary New York Times account of a tragi-comic racial debacle there.
