Many times this newspaper publishes stories and editorials that focus on an awareness month, during which time is set aside to focus on an issue. This can include awareness about health, services, holidays, organizations and more but there are also awareness days, months and holidays that make me wonder, “Who decided this was needed?”
Death is the one human experience that connects everyone, regardless of color, creed, class or bank account. The inequity comes only in its manner and timing.
Lazy, addicted or crazy — these are unfortunately some ways people describe those who are homeless. The facts behind why homelessness is such an issue are worth considering before one casts judgment on those living on the streets.
Science doesn’t have a good track record as far as human experiments are concerned, to put it mildly.
