One of the most important factors that influences a garden’s success is the weather.

On Dec. 27, local businessman, A.C. (Cody) Broussard and wife, Sheila Bourque Broussard, celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The Broussard’s, who began their life together with less than $10 in their pocket back in 1971, worked hard with integrity and heart to build several successful businesses while raising their two sons, Cody and Skyler, in Jennings.

After the boxes and wrapping paper from Christmas Past had been discarded or recycled, I assumed a horizontal position on my favorite sofa, pulled the blanket up to my chin and grabbed the clicker, listening to all the television banter about the year coming to a close.

Allen Parish Tourist Commission recently honored Coushatta Tribe Chief Jonathan Cernek for his dedication to promoting tourism in Allen Parish in 2021. Cernek said it was an honor to be able to represent Coushatta and partner with Allen Parish to see continued friendship, growth and a high level of excitement going into the new year.
