Traditional coffee cake is a moist, tender pastry that might be topped with streusel or crumbs and is often served as the perfect accompaniment to coffee or tea at breakfast or in the afternoon.

Daniel Boudreaux, CEO of Vestra Health was the guest speaker at the Rotary Club meeting on Feb. 20. Boudreaux is a graduate of Welsh High School, worked as an EMS, earned his master’s degree and is currently helping organizations of various sizes to provide health insurance to employees and provide enhanced service and personalized care. Roady was on this earth for almost a decade before we met during my time at Acadiana Animal Aid. Regal, slightly graying and terribly handsome, this German shepherd had stories to tell. Some of those tales were of beautiful times and blossoming friendships and bonds with humans at the rescue. His other stories? Well, they weren’t as flowery.
