WELSH — Graduates of Welsh High School were honored Wednesday night at Greyhound Stadium with a ceremony sending them off into the world. The graduating class was 50 strong and had five valedictorians to its name. The event started with a welcome speech by President Jake Arceneaux, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by Vice President Molly Fear and an invocation by Secretary Gracelynn Guillory.
Officials recently announced the launch of the Jeff Davis Parish Safe Streets Plan and invites the public to help shape a safer transportation network. The Safe Streets Plan is a community-driven effort to reduce serious injuries and fatalities on parish roadways for people walking, bicycling and driving. The plan is being developed with support from a federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
