LAKE ARTHUR — The Jeff Davis Parish Council on Aging will host its annual crawfish boil in honor of May’s Older Americans Month. The celebration will be held Friday, May 10, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Lake Arthur Community Center, with the serving of crawfish ending at 11:30 a.m.

The time to bid farewell to the Class of 2024 is upon the parish with ceremonies beginning this week.

Next Tuesday is the last call for anyone wanting to catch the free spring weekly concert series, Turn It Up Tuesday, at Founder’s Park.

WELSH — DOTD will be conducting an asphalt overlay on the I-10 westbound off-ramp at La. 99 in Welsh beginning Monday, May 6. The ramp will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday to allow maintenance crews to complete this work.

(The Center Square) — A measure that would place restrictions on what Louisiana could do with revenue raised from a planned $2.1 billion bridge in Lake Charles was passed this week by the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works.
