Council unanimously approves liquor license
Jennings City Council met on Tuesday to discuss the issuance of a packaged beer and liquor license to Hebert’s Boudin and Cracklins.
DOTD plans closure
On Wednesday, April 17 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Department of Transportation and Development work crews will perform roadwork on La. 102. The right southbound lane of the highway between East South and Levi streets will be closed. The closure is only expected to last one day. DOTD officials advise motorists traveling in the area to use caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Partners sought for summer feeding program
Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry is currently seeking applications from organizations across the state who would like to host a feeding program during the summer.

LANGSTON, Okla. — The Oklahoma A&M Board of Regents announced the appointment of Jennings native Dr. Ruth Ray Jackson as the seventeenth president of Langston University.
Friends Supporting Friends resume monthly live music, dance
The non-profit group Friends Supporting Friends helps those struggling with medical battles by hosting a benefit in the person’s honor. Recently, the group has re-started hosting monthly dances with live music to help support maintenance of the venue.
