Esther “Esta” L. LeMaire, daughter of Ada Trahan Vincent and Amos LeJeune, died on Jan. 1, 2026. She was a resident of Lake Arthur for the majority of her life; she was proud to call it home. Growing up alongside her brother, Robert LeJeune, the two developed a life-long relationship. Esther loved her family and raised four children (Carla, Clint, Rick, Julie). Esther was also very fond of her work for the Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury, where she dedicated over 40 years of service.
Elizabeth (Liz) Fern Harris Mack went Home for Christmas Dec. 24, 2025. She was surrounded by her family and the host of heaven. The service to celebrate her life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026 at the Lake Arthur Camp Tabernacle. She lived in Jennings and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lake Arthur. Reverends Craig Davis, Jean Sanders and Susan Ferguson will officiate. A noon reception will follow in the dining hall.

Ray “Butch” Conner, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 8, 2025. He was born on July 18, 1945 to Ray and Davinia Conner, the second of 10 children. He married the love of his life, Beverly Conner, on March 22, 1975 and they have five wonderful, loving children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings for Mr. Jerry Alan Fournet, Sr., 85, who passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025 at the Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings for Ms. Gertis Miller Bergeaux, 95, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 27, at Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Debarge Jr., who left us on Nov. 27, 2025, at the age of 88. John was born on Sept. 22, 1937 in Basile and spent his life dedicated to his family and community.
