The Jennings High Diamond Dogs hosted the Danny Reed Classic over the weekend. The Dogs took a loss against the Oakdale Warriors in extra innings but picked up a win against the David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy Bulldogs.

Indians walk away with district title
The Jennings boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hosted the St. Louis Saints in the final home game of the season this week. The No. 29 power-rated Lady Bulldogs needed a win to improve their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. The Lady Saints took a 23-13 halftime lead and would go on to win 51-31 keeping the Lady Dogs out of the playoffs. The Jennings boys celebrated Senior Night as they honored senior players Wilton Jones and Kamareon Asberry. St. Louis would lead 36-19 at halftime and score 37 points in the second half, giving them a 73-36 win.
The Lake Arthur Junior High Tigers and the Jennings Junior High Bulldogs battled it out on the gridiron.
The Lake Arthur High Tigers traveled to Vinton High this week to take on the Lions in their baseball season opener. The Tigers gave it their all, but the Lions came out on top, 5-1.

HATHAWAY — Hathaway High celebrated Senior Night when they hosted district rival Lacassine High on Friday night. First place in District 6-B was on the line in the boys’ game. The Cardinals, looking to avenge a loss to the Hornets, bolted out to a 38-23 halftime lead. Hathaway would rally in the fourth period, but Lacassine held on to win 72-59. In the girls’ game. Hathaway led 18-15 at halftime and would hold on to win 53-44.
