Welsh Stays Perfect with 19-16 Win

IOTA — The Jennings Bulldogs and Iota Bulldogs went at each other for four quarters of football before the hosts were able to pull away for a 21-13 win late in the fourth quarter. Jennings led 7-6 until the midway point of the fourth stanza, but a flurry from Iota’s offense allowed them to take a 21-7 lead late in the contest. Jennings would tack on a late score with six seconds left in the game to bring the final to 21-13.

The Elton Indians lit up the Merryville scoreboard Friday night by claiming a 57-44 win over the Panthers. The win moves the Indians to 4-1 on the season, and they will return home Thursday night to take on the Gueydan Bears in another district 4-1A contest.

The Lake Arthur Tigers will hit the road to take on the winless Pickering Red Devils. The Tigers are seeking to get back above .500 tonight after they dropped a tough decision to Delcambre last week kickoff is set for 7 pm from Pickering High School

WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds are coming off of a 73-14 pounding of the Pickering Red Devils, which improved their record to a perfect 3-0. The Greyhound offense set a stadium record by scoring 52 points in the first quarter against the Red Devils.
