CROWLEY - The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers cruised to another district 6-2A win Tuesday night by riding the first-half scoring of senior Deonna Brister and three others double figures to claim an 83-40 win over the Notre Dame Lady Pios. Brister dumped in a blistering 30 points in the first two quarters of basketball as the Lady Tigers jumped out to a 46-22 lead at the half. Kali Hornsby, Vivian Sketoe and Darrah Broussard would notch double figures in thew win, and moved Lake Arthur to 23-3 overall, 4-0 in league play. Brister would finish with a gamehigh 34 points, while the Lady Tigers continue to use the 3-pointer to their advantage by draining 12 in the contest.

BELL CITY - The No.1-ranked Hathaway Lady Hornets may have come out of the gates a little slow against district rival Bell City in the opening period, however it was total domination following that. The Lady Hornets pulverized the Lady Bruins by a final of 87-43 to improve their overall mark to 18-3, 3-0 in district 6-B play. The Hornets placed four players in double-digits, but it was the monster night of guard Chloey Guidry that stood out. Chloey had 31 points in the contest, which put her over 1,800 career points. Just to make it a family affair, younger sister Sienna, a seventh-grader, buried five 3-pointers en route to 17 points, while Lamiyah Sanchez also got in on the fun with 17 of her own. The Lady Hornets also buried a total of 13 3-balls in the win.

WESTLAKE - The Jennings Bulldogs ended a two-game skid Tuesday night when they went on the road and chopped down 4-3A rival Westlake by a final of 60-46. The Dogs sent three players in double-digits, and improved to over .500 with the victory. Jennings is now sitting at 6-5, 1-2 in league play heading into a big contest tonight with the St. Louis Saints. Jennings was able to break open a tight game, which saw them clinging to a 29-26 lead at the half.

WESTLAKE - Just a couple of nights after putting a scare into the No. 1 South Beauregard Lady Knights, the No. 4-ranked Jennings Lady Bulldogs fought past a talented Westlake Lady Rams’ team by a final of 57-51on the road. The Jennings duo of Anna Trahan and Jill Fontenot torched the nets for a com-bined 38 points and eight 3-pointers in the win, while also getting 11 from Niyah Breaux to help lead the way. With the win, the Lady Dogs moved to 16-5 overall, 2-2 in an extremely tough district 4-3A. Things don’t get any easier for the Lady Dogs, as they hit the road tonight to take on the St. Louis Lady Saints. St. Louis is 21-1 overall, and is ranked No. 1 in Division II.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas - LSU found itself down six, 66-60, with 8:20 left when Texas A&M made its 12th three-pointer of the game.

ELTON - The No. 8-ranked Elton Lady Indians hosted yet another clistrict 4 -1A contest at Oris Guidry Gymnasium Friday night, and came away with a 71-45 victory over the east Beauregard Lady Trojans. The win moved the Lady Indians to 6-7 overall, but more importantly 5-1 in league play in second place behind Merryville. Elton rode the hot hand of Homecoming Queen Nya Francis, as she poured in a career-high of 25 points in the win.
