Jennings junior running back Trevor Etienne saw the accolades keep coming in over this week, as he was named to the illustrious MaxPreps All-Louisiana Team. The team honors the top players in the state throughout all classifications, and truly showcases the top talent in all of Louisiana. Several big-time college commitments and signees splatter the team consisting of players through several regions of the state.

And as the Tigers took another step forward — a big step — Wednesday night against Arkansas with a convincing 92-76 win at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, something felt different about the victory.
WELSH - The Welsh Greyhounds opened district 6-2A play having to deal with one of the top programs in 2A right off the bat. Coming off a state football title just weeks ago, the Lafayette Christian Knights (LCA) picked up where they left off on the hardwood. The Knights opened 6-2A play with a 56-24 win over the Greyhounds at Greyhound Gymnasium.
The Jennings Bulldogs picked up a big victory over the Lake Arthur Tigers here Tuesday night at Gaudet Gymnasium, blasting the Tigers by a final of 80-37. The dogs placed 11 players in the scoring column, and moved to 5-3 with the non-district win over the Tigers. The Dogs will take tonight off before heading into district 4-3A play next week, while the Tigers will travel to Lafayette to take on the mighty LCA Knights. Trevor Etienne had the hot-hand for the Bulldogs Tuesday night, as he poured in 18 to lead his squad, a day before he learned of being named to the All-Louisiana First Team Football squad, a team that ranks the best players in all classifications throughout the state.
LACASSINE – The Lacassine Cardinals had a three-game winning streak snapped Tuesday night when they opened district 6-B play against the Episcopal School of Acadiana (ESA) at Juneau Gymnasium Tuesday night. The Falcons rallied after a slow start to claim a 55-44 win over the Cardinals despite trailing the homestanding squad 27-22 at the halftime break. ESA’s Adam Sabbaghian scored 21 of his game-high 26 points in the second half to help push the Falcons past Lacassine in both teams’ league opener.
ELTON - The Elton Indians accomplished something they haven’t done in a number of yearsknock off the Class A power Hamilton Christian Warriors Tuesday night at Oris Guidry Gymnasium. The No. 3 Indians topped Hamilton by a final of 55-50 to move to 12-3 overall, while the Warriors fell to 10-5 overall. In the opener, the Lady Indians rolled to their third straight win by besting the Lady Warriors 66-32 in a blowout win. Vici Woods and Mariah Lemoine had big nights for Elton, both racking up over 20 points in the win.
