LACASSINE – The time has come for the annual Lacassine Cardinal Backer’s Club Bingo and Auction that is set for Saturday, Feb. 29. The event has long been the club’s main fundraiser for all sports at Lacassine High School (LHS), and according to president Jo Chadwick, the 2020 version should be another special one due to some quite unique auction items the club was lucky enough to have donated. The event is free for anyone to attend and bid on live auction items, silent auction items and a dessert auction. A full concession stand will be there to feed all hungry visitors, while a sweet shop will also be utilized to take care of anyone with a sweet tooth. The only cost for guests besides the bidding of items and food will be to participate in the bingo event. The cost is $15 per book of cards consisting of 10 games. The first nine games will be for a $100 prize, while the last game is a blackout card worth $1,000. Chadwick touched on the importance of the event to help raise money for all sports at the school, and pointed out the gratitude to everyone who makes the event a success.
