LAKE ARTHUR — The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers softball team ended their regular season Monday when they hosted the Lacassine Lady Cardinals. Lacassine took a 6-2 lead in the first inning and then a 13-2 lead in the second inning. Lake Arthur would battle back to make it a 13-8 game after four innings. Lacassine would score eight runs in the sixth inning to take a 21-8 win via the 10-run rule.
Lady Dogs put up fight against Lady Jays
The Diamond Dogs welcomed the Knights of Comeaux High to Danny Reed Field Monday night for a contest that was an absolute “must-win” for Jennings and what could be the last ever baseball game for Comeaux. The Dogs came into the game with a very slim chance at making the playoffs, and Comeaux High School is presently scheduled to close after this school year.
Lady Hounds finish season
The Lady Dogs of Jennings, looking to improve their playoff position, took on the Lady Bobcats of Erath at Tom Precht Field and came away with an 8-4 victory.
The Lady Dogs of Jennings welcomed the Lady Pios of Notre Dame to Tom Precht Field Wednesday night in a nondistrict contest. The Pios came into the game with an impressive 28-3 record and sit atop District 6 2-A with a record of 5-0.
The Lacassine Cardinals baseball team hosted the Breaux Bridge Tigers for Senior Night. Seniors Cash Ardoin (from left), Layne Baguex and David Johnson were honored for their commitment and dedication to the baseball program. Lacassine lost to the Class 4A Tigers 15-3.
ELTON — The Elton Lady Indians softball team hosted the Crowley Ladies Thursday evening at Coushatta Field. Elton led 2-0 in the first inning, then Crowley scored eight runs in the second inning and 10 runs in the third inning to take an 18-2 lead. Elton would score three runs in the third inning to cut the Crowley led to 18-5. Crowley would score a run in the fourth inning and three in the fifth to take a 22-5 win in five innings. In the first inning, Elton used a walk and a triple to score Kaya Francis and Dynver Gradness for a 2-0 lead. In the second inning, Crowley would bat 14 and score eight runs to take an 8-2 lead. Elton would go in order with a groundout and two strikeouts.
The Jennings High Diamond Dogs traveled down the road to challenge the South Beauregard High Golden Knights. Jennings put up a fight, but South Beau took the win,
