Welsh keeps top spot in division play

WELSH — The Welsh Lady Greyhounds played their final home game of the season on Wednesday at Sportsman Park against the Singer Lady Hornets. A grand slam home run in the second inning helped Singer take a 10-1 lead going into the fifth inning. The Lady Hounds’ defense was able to stop Singer in the last three innings, but they would lose 10-1.

Looking to end their three-game losing streak, the Jennings Lady Dogs softball team turned to their senior slugger and junior pitcher when they hosted the Westlake Lady Rams on Thursday at Tom Precht Field. Emma Venable hit a grand slam home run and a three-run homer to help Jennings take a 15-0 win in three innings. Pitcher Molly Person tossed a no-hitter and was a walk away from a complete game.
