CROWLEY — After suffering a pair of set backs over the weekend to the Southland Hogs and Lafayette Drillers, the Crowley Millers bounced back in a big way Tuesday night with a District 7 opening win over the talented Opelousas Indians by score of 16-6. The win leaves the Millers at 8-2 overall and the team was back in action Wednesday night against Beau Chene then travel to Shreveport to compete in the Benton High School Invitational. The Millers pounded out 11 hits in the win and used a gutsy start from Lon Paul Moody on the mound to earn the win. Moody went 5.1 innings and gave up six runs on nine hits and struck out five. Futch came on to face two hitters and earned a strikeout of his own to get out of a bases loaded jam.
