The Jennings High School cheerleaders hosted their annual summer cheer camp at JHS this week. Young girls from throughout the area were able to learn cheers and dances from the high school squad while having a good time and making friends. At the end of the week, the cheerleaders were able to show off their new moves to their families.

As I stood in line, outside a bathroom at a restaurant in a nearby coastal town, I was surrounded by the clamor of young girls, accompanied by two mothers.
James O. Hall Post 19 of the American Legion is holding a flag retirement ceremony at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 13, at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home, located at 1610 Evangeline Rd. in Jennings.
