GARDEN OF THE MONTH

(StatePoint) The fall season is upon us and it’s the perfect time to reset and renew. Simple and small modifications to your daily exercise and nutrition routines can make a huge difference—and these three easy tips will help you “fall” back into a good routine.

One sure sign that fall is near is garden centers beginning to fill with beautiful chrysanthemums — better known as mums.

The Jeff Davis Parish Cattlemen’s Association recently made a $4,500 donation to the Jeff Davis Parish School Board to share between the six Future Farmers of America chapters in the parish. Each high school group will receive $750. This is an annual donation from the association to support parish youth in agriculture.

The lights were moody and the exhibits were intricate for the featured display on Archimedes.

Frank Thibodeaux American Legion Post 520 donated school supplies to Save the Children Head Start in Jennings. Post 520 gives back to the community and participates in events as much as possible.

In the wake of the beautiful and awe-inspiring coverage of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, I had to confess: I don’t remember seeing this historic event on television as it happened, live in 1969.
