The rezoning request for an Iowa property was denied following a nearly unanimous roll call vote by the Jeff Davis Police Jury Zoning Committee Wednesday.
The request to change the zoning of 19515 Raoul Rd. from rural A1 agriculture property to commercial was made by Fitzgerald and Javon Darbonne of Iowa.
Residents requesting the rezoning relayed their plans if the request is approved next week.
