ROANOKE — Residents said goodbye to a community staple this week after the first country store in the area was torn down.
Roanoke resident Missy B. Harper made the tough decision to demolish the A.R. McMillan and Sons store that has sat on the property for over 130 years.
The store was built sometime in the late 1800s and served the community in many ways throughout the years.
